In this unit, you’ll learn how to
- Analyze a problem and create an algorithm to solve it.
- Express your algorithms in plain English, in pseudocode, and in code.
- Use functions to create reusable chunks of code.
- Use types to distinguish different types of data.
- Incorporate decision-making into your programs using if/else statements.
You’ll apply your skills in playgrounds to create a dancing BoogieBot and a data visualizer. Next, you’ll build the brain of a QuestionBot app that responds to user input from the keyboard.
You’ll continue to explore bias in technology design and analyze how bias might enter at all levels of software development. You’ll explore how to design excellent user experiences by going beyond the app interface to analyze the app’s core purpose, the data it manages, and its users’ goals. You’ll start designing the user experience for your app idea, including key functionality and screens. And you’ll create a storyboard to show how users will move through your app, testing your ideas with feedback from others.
